01 · The format
The format
Is this gambling?
No. Our events are offline entertainment. Guests receive symbolic chips free of charge. Those chips hold no monetary value, cannot be purchased, cannot be topped up for value and cannot be exchanged for money, goods or credit. There is no betting, no wagering, no cash prize, no deposit and nothing online.
What exactly are the chips then?
A scorekeeping device for the length of the evening. Every guest gets an equal stack at the door, chips move around the table as rounds are played, and at the close they are counted so a leaderboard or a recognition moment is possible. After that they are worth nothing.
Do guests need to know how to play?
No, and we assume most do not. Hosts teach a roulette-style table in under a minute and a card table in one hand. The formats are chosen because they are easy to pick up, not because they reward experience.
Can a winner be given a prize?
A host can recognise a top guest or team with a trophy, a bottle or a gift that you provide. What never happens is a payout: chips are not converted into money, vouchers or anything of value, and no prize is funded by guests.
Will the room look like a casino?
It will look like a premium event. Dark room, warm light pooled over the tables, brass and timber furniture. We do not use slot machines, pokies, neon signage or anything that imitates a gambling venue.
02 · Numbers and timings
Numbers and timings
How many guests can you handle?
Up to 125 guests at a single event. Below about a dozen guests one table is usually the right answer, and we will say so.
How long does an event run?
Up to 5 hours of guest time. Most corporate evenings run three to four hours of open tables, and private parties two to three.
How many tables do we need?
Roughly one table per 25 to 30 guests for a standing event. A room of 100 usually takes four tables across formats. Seated dinners need fewer, long evenings need more.
How much space does a table take?
Allow about three by three metres per table including the standing area behind it. We will mark positions on a floor plan before the event.
How long is set-up and strip-out?
About ninety minutes to build three tables, and four to six hours before doors if lighting and staging are in scope. Strip-out is usually under ninety minutes, or the next morning if the venue prefers.
03 · Venues and logistics
Venues and logistics
Do you travel outside the main centres?
Yes. We work across New Zealand from a base in Hanmer Springs, and rural venues and lodges are normal work for us. Travel beyond our usual radius is quoted with the event.
Can you set up in a private home?
Yes. We protect floors and doorways, run off ordinary power points and keep the build quiet. Tables come apart to pass through a standard doorway.
What do you need from the venue?
A reasonably direct route from the vehicle, a standard doorway, access to power points, and a load-in window. Tell us about stairs, lifts or tight corners in advance.
Do you carry insurance and work with venue requirements?
Yes. We provide our insurance details and method statements to venues on request, and we comply with venue rules on rigging, naked flame, power and access.
Can you work with our existing AV or production supplier?
Yes. We will take the table and floor scope and coordinate with whoever holds the AV contract.
04 · Booking and pricing
Booking and pricing
How does pricing work?
Every event is quoted individually. The price depends on the size of the event, the venue and the formats you choose, so we build a tailored proposal once we know your date, head count and location. We do not publish a price list, because a lodge for 30 and a city function for 120 are not the same job.
How far ahead should we book?
Four to eight weeks is comfortable. Branded chips, felt and card backs need three to five weeks on their own. We do take shorter notice when crew and kit are free.
What happens after we send an enquiry?
We reply within one business day, usually with two or three questions about the venue. Then you get a proposal with a table mix, a floor plan and a quote.
Can we see a table before committing?
For larger events, yes. We can usually arrange for you to see a table set up, or send detailed photos and dimensions.
What are the cancellation terms?
They are set out in our Terms and Conditions and confirmed in writing with your booking, so you know the position before you commit.
05 · Age limits and responsibility
Age limits and responsibility
Why is the event adults only?
Because the theme is adult entertainment, even though nothing is played for money. Our events are restricted to guests aged 20+ and over, and hosts will decline to seat anyone who appears to be under age.
What if a guest asks to play for money?
The host declines, explains that the evening is entertainment only, and escalates to the event manager if it continues. Hosts never handle money, operate a cash float or accept a wager.
What if someone in our group has a gambling problem?
We would ask you to think carefully before including them. Even with symbolic chips, a casino-themed format can be uncomfortable or unhelpful for someone with gambling-related harm. There is no obligation to take part at any of our events, and our Responsible Entertainment notice covers this.
Do you provide anything for an internal approval?
Yes. On request we supply a written description of the format and our adults-only, no-wagering position for HR, compliance or venue sign-off.

Still deciding? Ask a direct question
We would rather talk you out of a format that will not work in your room than sell it to you. Send the enquiry form or call during business hours.
