The format

Why this works in a real room

Team building fails when it either embarrasses people or asks nothing of them. A table rotation does neither. Participants are placed in mixed teams, each team works a table together for a set time, and the facilitator moves the room on a clock.

Teams score in symbolic chips, which makes the result visible without anything being at stake. The facilitator debriefs at the end: which tables suited which team, where the decisions got loud, who turned out to be good at reading a room. It is light-touch, and it is the part HR teams tend to ask for in writing.

Fixed limits

Every event we run is capped at up to 125 guests and up to 5 hours of guest time. Those limits keep the service deliverable and the floor comfortable.

Pricing is quoted per event and depends on the size of the event, the venue and the formats you choose.

Delivery

How a session runs

  1. Set-up and teams

Tables are built and participants are allocated to mixed teams as they arrive.

  2. Brief

Five minutes on the format, the scoring and the house rules, including that nothing is played for money.

  3. Rotation one

Teams take their first table with a host teaching the format.

  4. Rotations two to four

The clock moves teams on. Scores accumulate and standings are called between rounds.

  5. Final round

A longer closing round at the table each team chose as their strongest.

  6. Debrief and close

Standings, recognition and a short facilitated conversation about how the teams worked.

Questions

Asked about this format

Can this run during the working day?

Yes. Daytime sessions work well in a function room we can darken, or as the opening item of an offsite.

Will people who dislike team building hate it?

Usually not, because nobody has to perform. Participants sit at a table with a host doing the explaining and a team around them.

Do you provide something for our HR records?

Yes. We supply a written description of the format and the adults-only, no-wagering position on request.
