What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage and pixels. They can remember a setting, keep a session secure, or measure how a site is used.
On levelclash.com we keep this deliberately simple: cookies that are strictly necessary, and two optional categories that do nothing at all until you switch them on.
Our consent approach
We implement Google Consent Mode v2. On your first visit, and before you make any choice, these consent signals are set to denied:
ad_storage— advertising storageanalytics_storage— analytics storagead_user_data— sending user data to Google for advertisingad_personalization— ads personalisation
That means no analytics or advertising cookie is written, and no Google Analytics, Google Ads or Google Tag Manager measurement tag is loaded, before you consent. When you make a choice, the signals are updated to match the categories you allowed.
We do not use pre-ticked boxes, cookie walls or dark patterns. "Reject all" sits beside "Accept all" and is equally easy to use. Scrolling, navigating or closing the banner is never treated as consent, and the banner does not block the content of the page.
Cookie categories we use
1. Necessary cookies
Always active, because the site cannot work without them. They cover page delivery, security and remembering your cookie choice so you are not asked again on every page. They never include analytics or advertising storage.
| Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Storing your cookie preferences | Local storage, first party | Until you clear it or change your choice |
| Security and load balancing by our host | Cookie, first party | Session to 12 months |
2. Analytics cookies
Off until you allow them. They let us see which pages and event formats are looked at, so we can improve the site. This is where Google Analytics 4 would sit. This category controls analytics_storage.
| Provider | Purpose | Typical retention |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 (if enabled) | Aggregated usage measurement | Up to 14 months |
3. Marketing cookies
Off until you allow them. Used for advertising measurement, remarketing, conversion tracking and ads personalisation, for example with Google Ads. This category controls ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization.
| Provider | Purpose | Typical retention |
|---|---|---|
| Google Ads (if enabled) | Conversion measurement, remarketing, ads personalisation | Up to 13 months, provider dependent |
| Google Tag Manager (if enabled) | Tag delivery, gated on consent | No cookie of its own |
Tags are listed as "if enabled" because measurement containers are only activated once consent gating has been verified. Nothing in the analytics or marketing categories runs while those categories are off.
Data sharing with Google
If Google services are active under your consent, certain data may be shared with Google and used for advertising measurement and personalisation. Google acts as a provider of these services and processes data in line with its own terms.
For detail, see How Google uses data from sites and apps that use its services and Google Business Data Responsibility.
Changing or withdrawing your consent
You can change your mind at any time:
- open here or in the footer of any page;
- switch categories on or off and save, or use "Reject all";
- or clear cookies and site data for levelclash.com in your browser settings, which resets us to the all-denied default.
Withdrawing consent stops future processing in that category. It does not undo processing that already took place lawfully while consent was active.
Browser controls
All major browsers let you block or delete cookies, and most offer a private browsing mode. Blocking all cookies may break parts of this or any other website. Browser-level controls are independent of the choice you make here, and if you block storage entirely our banner may ask again on each visit because it cannot remember your answer.
